The golden flat is our newest apartment — and the only one with a terrace. 18.5 m² of outdoor space overlooking the main garden of Villa Markhof, one of the largest private gardens in Graz. Not a balcony, not a loggia: a real terrace with table and seating, where you can have breakfast, work or simply wind down in the evening.

What makes the golden flat special
The terrace.
18.5 m² of terrace — only available here at GrazRentals. Table, seating, a retractable awning for sun protection. The view extends into the main garden of Villa Markhof: old trees, lush greenery, peace and quiet. Rain is the only reason to head inside — there is no rain cover. But behind the terrace door is a beautiful bedroom.
The main garden — a view no other apartment has.
Almost all GrazRentals apartments look out onto greenery. But the golden flat is the only one overlooking the main garden of Villa Markhof — one of the largest private gardens in Graz. The master bedroom has two window fronts: one facing the main garden, one facing the front garden. This much green, this central — you will not find that twice in Graz.

Our newest apartment.
The golden flat was the last of all seven apartments to be renovated. Everything is new: bathroom, kitchen, floors, electrics. Gold tones, fine materials, thoughtful details. Our regular guests love this apartment — so do we.
Private staircase — maximum quiet.
Like the orange flat, the golden flat has its own staircase. Entrance at Schubertstraße 16, next to the wooden garden fence. On the ground floor below is only the GrazRentals and Markhof office. No other guests, no bakery, no noise — the quietest access of all seven apartments.
Fully equipped kitchen.
This kitchen has everything — oven, 4-burner hob, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine. The Sorger bakery in the neighbouring staircase provides fresh rolls in the morning.

Getting here & check-in
Self-check-in from 3:00 pm via code lock — no key, no waiting. The "golden flat" parking space in the courtyard is included. The entrance is at Schubertstraße 16, next to the wooden garden fence — please do not confuse with number 16a (Sorger bakery). All information on getting here and finding your apartment will be sent to you automatically by email after booking.
Frequently asked questions about the golden flat
How many guests can the golden flat accommodate?
Up to six. Three sleeping options across two bedrooms: BR1: double bed 180×200 + sofa bed 160×200 and BR2: double bed 180×200. Travel cot and high chair on request.
Is the terrace covered?
No — the terrace is open, with a retractable awning for sun protection. When it rains, you retreat into the bedroom directly behind the terrace door. The terrace offers 18.5 m² with table and seating.
Is the kitchen fully equipped?
Yes. Oven, 4-burner hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine (capsule + filter). The kitchen table extends — comfortable for four, cosy for six. While cooking and eating, you look through the kitchen window onto the entrance of the university (RESOWI).
Is there a lift?
No. The golden flat is on the 1st floor, accessible via its own staircase (entrance Schubertstraße 16). For guests with limited mobility, we recommend the yellow or white flat — both on the ground floor.
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately not in the golden flat. Pets are welcome exclusively in the yellow flat.
What does the final cleaning cost?
€80 incl. VAT. All additional costs are listed transparently on our amenities page.
